A hot design trend to watch for in 2009 table décor is metallics paired with vibrant, organic colors, such as green, yellow, royal blue, rust and terra cotta. Designers are also using colored, frosted and scored glass as accent pieces.

A hot new design trend is to mix metals with natural materials such as wood, flowers and grass. Whether gold, bronze, nickel or silver, metal lamps and accessories are adding a clean, simple, minimalistic touch to home or commercial interiors, as well as special event decor.

Another hot trend in table décor is mix-and-match color glass inserts in metallic tabletop non-shaded lamps. Glass is becoming a popular material that fits in with the current eco-chic trend. Designers are beginning to play with various glass finishes, such as frosting, scoring and carving. Glass is also being used to mimic elements of nature, such as water, ice, leaves and moonlight.

The Rohm and Haas Company forecasts that large, dramatic geometric patterns will be paired with metallic finishes and accents  for an interesting blend of urban and natural.
