When: Friday March 6th, 2009 (10 to 8pm) and Saturday March 7th, 2009, (10 am – 6 pm)

Where: Howard Johnson Travel Plaza- 111 West Fortune Street- Downtown Tampa.( Right across from the Performing Arts Center)

Cost:  Nothing – FREE to attend and browse.  bring mom, sis, or a friend.

Why:  There will be between 750 and 1000 wedding gowns, some new, some worn for a day, all incredibly priced.  Your gown purchase directly benefits granting final wishes to terminal breast cancer patients.  Visit www.makingmemories.org to learn more.

Davis Island Garden Club Reception

Suzanne and Victor were married in May of 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ybor City with a full Catholic Mass and the reception was held at the Davis Island Garden Club. Suzanne and Victor chose Fuschia and Black as their wedding colors. When the guests arrived for the cocktail hour they were treated to appetizers and cocktails on the lawn with a great view of the water. They had lawn games available to entertain the guests along with a punch station. After the cocktail hour the guests were seated indoors for a  sit-down dinner along with the traditional first dance. After dinner was completed the party really began with lots of dancing, cigars and a fabulous dessert bar and candy station. The pictures below were furnished by Alexis Photography. Get Married TV Appearance # 2

Get Married is a show on the Lifetime channel that is hosted by Colin Cowie this year. The show is structured around great ideas and planning tips for your Special Day. We are pleased to announce at Special Moments, that the Lead Consultant and Founder of Special Moments will be featured for the 2nd time on Get married. You can catch Tammy Waterman on Feb 2nd 2009 on that episode that airs on the Lifetime Channel at 7:30 am, Monday thru Friday. If you cannot be in front of the television at that time, you can also visit Get Married on the Web and view all episodes aired that week. www.getmarried.com

We are so proud that this is the second Tv appearance for Tammy and the last episode was on Jan 12th, 2009 and you can view that clip in a previous blog post. We were also told by the writers and producers of Get Married that there will be several more appearances still this year for Tammy.

Greek Wedding -St Stefano’s Church

Desiree and Eric were married in July of 2007 at St. Stefano’s Church in St. Petersburg, Fl. Their Reception was held at the Church Hall. This was Special Moments first Greek wedding and were so excited to be a part. The Vendors chosen were amazing and truly helped make such a Special Day for the Bride and Groom, from the Greek Band to the amazing food by Delectable’s Fine Catering, to the fabulous photos below supplied by Alexis Photography and the chair covers and fabulous ceiling decor by Zee at A Linen Valley.

Valentine’s Day Group Wedding

Clerk’s Valentine’s Day Group Wedding Ceremony

The Valentine’s Day group wedding ceremony will be performed by Clerk of the Circuit Court Ken Burke at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009, in the Wedding Garden at the Florida Botanical Gardens located at 12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL, 33774.The Clerk has waived the normal $30 fee to perform the marriage. Standard marriage license fees will still apply. To participate, couples must sign up at any Pinellas County Clerk’s office by Friday, February 6, 2009. The number of couples may be limited due to space. Marriage licenses must be applied for between December 22, 2008 and February 11, 2009 in order to participate on the February 14, 2009 wedding date.

A-La Carte Event Pavilion -Bridal Show

Special Moments was involved in a Bridal Show Booth with the Association of Bridal Consultant Members this weekend. The Bridal Show was located at the A-La-Carte Event Pavilion and was put on by Keith LaMotte from Your Wedding  TV. Thanks to all of the Participating ABC Members who all contributed money towards the booth and their time. With the money from ABC Members, we were able to have a Making Memories Booth also. Making Memories is the sponsor of Brides Against Breast Cancer Gown Sale. We were able to get the word out to all of the many Brides in attendance about the Gown sale and that  purchasing a gown from the Sale helps the Making Memories Foundation grant wishes to people with terminal breast cancer. A great gown at a unbelievable price, that also gives a last wish to a terminal breast cancer patient’s family. For further information about the Brides against Breast cancer Gown Sale go to:

Kapok Special Event Center Reception

Erica and Derek were married in February 2008 in  St. Petersburg at The  Seventh Day Adventist Church. The ceremony was started with live music by a violinst to great the guests and then when Erica was escorted by her father, Chuck Weirich from TampaBayDJ.com played the trumpet for her grand entrance. The Bride and Groom rode in a white rolls royce from Allstar limousine to the reception. The reception was held at the Kapok Special Event Center in Clearwater. Erica and Derek had chosen the color chocolate and ivory for their wedding. Erica also used a pearl style theme as the accent for the reception. The guests were greeted as they arrived to the reception by a Steel Drummer and were served passed appetizers and punch and lemonade while they strolled thru the Gardens. After all of the guests were seated in the Ballroom and the Wedding Party and Parents formally introduced down the Grand Staircase into the Ballroom, Erica and Derek were introduced to a Loud roar of applause and they proceeded right into their First Dance under the beautiful chandelier in the ballroom. After the first dance, the guests were treated to a plated dinner served by Olympia Catering. The background music and Mc services were supplied by Chuck Weirich of Tampabaydj.com . The guests were treated again as they left the reception with personalized mugs filled with a to go bag of Hot Cocoa mix complete with marshmallows and chocolate chips. There were also small boxes filled with single serving size black cake for the guests to enjoy with their Hot Cocoa , baked for the occasion by family members.
