Clearwater Beach Rec Center Wedding Reception

Stefanie and Gary came to us around Christmas time looking for a “Day of” Planner for their wedding and reception. Stefanie and Gary along with Mother of the Bride ( Beth) will contest that they were glad they had hired Special Moments for their wedding day.

We are including the testimonial they wrote about us on Wedding Wire:

Tammy and Krissy were the absolute best at their job! Available, professional, take-charge, organized, great with the other vendors and totally necessary to survive the wedding day :) We had a beautiful wedding and reception that went off without a hitch thanks in large part to them. My husband and I were able to enjoy the surroundings, our guests and the frivolity and not even concern ourselves with the inner workings of the event. Tammy and Krissy were key to the success of the day and we thank them graciously. We would recommend them to all our friends who have daughters or sons that will someday plan a wedding. Thanks to both for taking care of our grown-up, now married daughter.

Now for the details of the event. Stefanie and Gary were married on June 6th, 2009 at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Clearwater at 2:30pm. The cocktail hour began at the Clearwater Rec. Center at 5:00pm. Yes, there was a gap between the ceremony and reception and it did work! The time in between was spent with the Trolley they rented taking the Wedding Party and Family to the beach for pictures. When the cocktail hour started they were done with pictures and able to enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests, plus have great pictures in a totally relaxed no time limit atmosphere… After formal introductions, Stefanie and Gary wowed the guests with a choreographed First Dance that left everybody chatting about it all night. Next was dinner, Amici’s put a great buffet for all of the guests to enjoy. After finishing up dinner, Father/Daughter & Mother/Son dances and toasts…. The Dance floor opened and the Chocolate Fountain and desserts opened also. The party was scheduled to end at 11:00pm, but the party was still going until 1:00am!!

Sunset Beach Wedding

Nichole and Brandon came to us in May of 2008 and wanted an  ” Out of the Box” Beach Wedding. Brandon did not want the arch, white chairs tiki torches, blah, blah, blah….  He was looking for unique and cool.. Nichole was looking for help, since they live in the Gainesville Area with creating a casual cocktail party reception at the St.Petersburg Yacht Club.

We accepted the challenge and started brainstorming on ways to make this all happen. We had 2 different ideas to submit to Nichole and Brandon for the beach wedding set-up. The 2 inspiration pictures are featured below:

After narrowing down the beach wedding set-up and finalizing that… We set out to start tackling the job of making the Yacht club ballroom a casual tropical cocktail party… FYI they did have a limited budget also…. We decided instead of having large round tables and chair covers and bows… we would bring in Bamboo chairs to give the tropical casual feel instead of the formal look that the chair covers and bows would bring. Plus large round tables encourage all of the guest to sit and wait for dinner… We then decided to do High top cocktail tables and some small round bistro tables.. We did have a few large round tables for the older guests and family that just did not understand the concept of mingling….. We did 3 different styles of centerpieces that all had a tropical feel and plenty of color, since Nichole had chosen Sunset colors for the wedding.  We finalized the details with adding a Steel Drummer that was playing as they arrived for the cocktail party along with a  polaroid photo booth station with tropical props for the guests to dress up and take pictures at their convenience.. The wedding and reception was a total success and we have developed a life long relationship with this wonderful couple and Mom  also…

Below is the testimonial from Nichole’s Mother about our services at Special Moments:

Tammy Waterman with Special Moments and all of her staff made that one moment in my daughter’s life beyond special. She kept things flowing comfortably from the begininng to the end and even after. Her suggestions of vendors were awesome and she made sure my daughter stayed right on budget, right on time, and very relaxed throughout the whole year. I hope to use her and her staff again for my next daughter.

Holiday Inn Harbourside Wedding Reception

Jennifer and Joseph were planning their own wedding and reception until about 2 weeks before the wedding. They realized they were getting in over their heads with details and logistics among having over 120 guests attending their wedding. They reached out to Special Moments to help finish up the details and pull together all the loose ends, so they could relax and enjoy the wedding week and festivities. Jennifer and Joseph were married on May 23rd, 2009 at the St. Judes Chapel at 4:00pm in the afternoon. The chapel was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers on the pews along with tall stunning arrangements on both sides of the altar and beautiful fresh wreaths on the doors to the chapel by Brian from Redman Steele Floral Design Studios. After a beautiful ceremony, the guests then traveled to the Holiday Inn Harbourside in Indian Rocks Beach for cocktails and dinner. The cocktail hour was on the outside patio overlooking the lake. The dinner and dancing was held inside the KeyWest room which was decorated in golds with accents of white and greens. After a wonderful plated dinner, the guests danced the night away to a variety of music styles and rythmns… When the towncar arrived to drive Jennifer and Joseph to the Ritz Carlton in sarasota for their brief honeymoon weekend, the guests showered them with rose petals, kisses and good luck wishes…..The pictures below are some of pictures we were able to capture for you of the decor and set-ups. We are looking forward to receiving the professional photos from the photographers to share with you of this amazing event. We fondly call this our Wedding in a Week! We were hired the Monday of the wedding week and were able to help facilitate and finalize the missing pieces…. Thanks again to Jennifer and Joseph for being able to relax and leave the final details to us!  Enjoy the photos below:
