Featured Ceremony Program

Welcome to Featured Friday………..

One of the best parts about my job is being able to customize the elements of each wedding. I want every single wedding to be a personal reflection of the bride and groom.

For this wedding, the bride really wanted to incorporate their love to travel, and the groom really wanted a nice elegant wedding, so we at Special Moments decided to fuse the 2 ideas together.

Ceremony passport programOne of the “travel aspects” of the wedding was their ceremony program. We designed it to resemble a passport. Of course with my OCD traits I sat and stared at an actual passport for an entire day to make sure I got every single detail down. We used textured paper on the cover and did the same symbol on the front. On the bottom of each page we did love quotes because on a regular passport they have quotes.

The idea is that whatever you think of, we can create.

Here are a few photos from Courtney and Masable’s Wedding to enjoy:

Trendy Thursday – The “Nautical Aisle”

Wedding Professional Wednesday

Welcome to Wedding Professional Wednesday…..

This week we decided to pick a wedding professional who never lets us down.

Chuck Weirich

Chuck Weirich from TampaBayDj.com is one of the best in the area. Not only is he an emcee, disc jockey, he also plays the trumpet! It’s like having a band and a DJ in one!

A lot of younger brides want younger Dj’s because they “fit in” better with their crowd, but I say that age is only a number and it’s about the personality of the vendor. You are only as old as you act. Appearance means nothing in this field.

Chuck also uses the top of the line BOSE sound system, so he can definitely keep the party rockin’ all night! (Chuck will also work by candlelight, trust us, we have made him do some crazy things for our clients)

Nevertheless, one piece of advice before I go, please, no PLEASE hire a professional, a DJ can either make or break your reception, please do your research before booking any vendor for your wedding, because, would you choose the first house you look at, or would you look around to make sure you get the best?

 That’s all for today.

Please visit his website, and remember he is only a phone call away!

Funday Photo

It is time for Funday Monday and that means something to keep you smiling thru the day and even thru the week……

How can you say no to those eyes?   Dogs do the darnest things!

Featured Friday- Sheraton Riverwalk Wedding

We thought for Featured Friday this week, we would pull a video out of the Special Moments Vault.. So Re- released for your viewing pleasure, we bring you Kristen and Chris…. Kristen and Chris were married at the Sheraton Riverwalk- Dowtown Tampa in April 2007. The video is compliments of Trinity Wedding Video….

I cannot stress how important video is…..We have had many clients think they can live without …..only to regret it later…Your wedding day goes by so quickly and you will not have a chance to experience or even see half of what your guests did. The video will be the only way to watch the wedding and reception from your guests point of view and experience what they did.

So sit back, grab a drink and experience Kristen and Chris’s Wedding…….

Trendy Thursday- Eclectic Look

A trend that we have been seeing a lot of lately is the eclectic look. More and more brides are using different styles of vases on each table. 4 or 5 different kinds of votive holders or mis-match items. Everything about your wedding doesn’t always have to match.

Using bright bold colors such as oranges and purples with random style vases and linens will really make your wedding stand out from everyone else’s.

Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box, and if you need suggestions on how to get this look, we are only a phone call away.

Wedding Professional Wednesday

Wedding Professional Wednesday, its pretty self explanatory, but our goal on this day is to introduce a company that you may not have heard of, or even to just help promote their company. No, these companies have not paid us, or put a gun to our head, they are just being spotlighted for being pretty darn cool. =) These companies will range from people we haven’t worked with yet, to some we have worked with hundreds of times. Either way, this should be fun for everyone. If you decide to book them for your event, just make sure you say Special Moments sent you! =)

Our 2nd Wedding Professional of 2010 is….(drumroll please) Beautiful Wedding Photography!
Marley Lindley is the Gal behind the camera… ( In fact, I have no photo to share of her, since she is always behind the camera) Instead of a long winded novel of us talking about her……I asked her some questions about her and her company so you can get to know the Gal behind the camera…Enjoy!

What year did you start your company? Beautiful Wedding photography was started in 2003.

( I donate my time to offer complimentary portraits of the Brides in their newly purchased gowns)

What school did you graduate from? I graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in 1994

What is your favorite food? My favorite food depends on what day it is, seafood, Chinese, sushi and Italian.

Favorite color? My favorite color again changes with the seasons, right now I am big into chocolate browns and tiffany blue or sage green.
Favorite movie? Not a big movie person, but I did enjoy the book Marley and Me.
Favorite song? It had to be you by Frank Sinatra, ok I admit it I am an old soul, I enjoy the classics.

Hobbies? I dabble in stain glass, painting pottery, working on preserving my old home (1924)

Destination Turks & Caicos

Today we are off to the beautiful beaches of Turks and Caicos. What a better way to get away from it all, whether it be for your honeymoon, or a trip to just get away.

The Turks and Caicos Islands consist of 40 islands and cays, eight of which are inhabited. The islands are located 550 miles southeast of Miami, Florida, just below the Bahamas chain and just to the east of Cuba and the island of Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti.) Technically, the Turks and Caicos are located in the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean Sea.

The pristine beaches, snorkeling and diving, deserted cays, sparkling turquoise waters, refreshing breezes, starlit nights, excellent hotels & amenities and the happy friendly people of the Turks and Caicos Islands make up the perfect destination for marriages and honeymooners.
Weddings here are celebrations, church bells ringing, and champagne on ice, decorated vehicles honking horns, music and dancing amongst happy faces and greetings from everyone. Weddings are also small and intimate, in a garden or tropical foliage where singing is done by the variety of birds, or in sail boat on our tranquil turquoise waters along the shores with a view of the beaches and rolling hills and the breakers on the barrier reef. The Turks and Caicos Islands offer to you our visitors this unique experience.
