I did not start out in life wanting to be a wedding planner…

I had all intentions of going to college and finding my niche in life.                   

 After planning my wedding in 2001 and carefully screening all of my vendors and going on recommendations from various sources, I thought I had planned the“perfect beach wedding”. On my wedding day it rained (Should I say Poured!!!!) and I of course did not have a wedding planner.( I thought I could do it all myself)  I have a horrible video and very few “decent pictures.” That set my new career in motion. If this can happen to me, it can happen to many other Brides out there also. Who is going to help them???

 Special Moments was founded in February 2004 from my desire to help all brides in need, no matter what their budget is. To at least understand that you can plan your own wedding, but please hire a professional to at least oversee and advise during the planning process and be there day of! Everybody can afford a wedding planner; you cannot afford not to have one!

abclogoI received my Professional Bridal Consultant status with the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) in September 2004.In November 2007 at the National Conference for ABC, I received my Accredited Bridal Consultant status and became 1 of 6 in Florida to have that status and the only 1 in the Tampa Bay area with the Association.

 I live and breathe Special Moments and lay awake many a night thinking about all of my client’s and their events. Ask the girls in the office, I keep the majority of It in my brain (on paper for the girls) and can remember client’s names and details from years past.

You may think the wedding is over and you’re long gone, but you all live on in my heart and mind forever!

I joined the Special Moments team when the company first started, not really by choice then; but after refusing for 4 years that this wasn’t the job for me, and trying to venture away from it by working other jobs during the summer, I realized that this is what I really do love to do. People have described me as a “behind the scenes” person. I would rather be tying chair bows, or making placecards, than attending a church ceremony or the more formal aspects of a wedding. I think the real reason why I fell in love with weddings & events, is because to truly see the happiness in others, when we fulfill their dreams and/or visions can’t be described. Because of Special Moments, I have actively gotten involved in Brides Against Breast Cancer, and have become Volunteer Coordinator for the Tampa Bay area; I have also started a Formal Dress sale to raise more money and awareness for this organization. Recently I have won an award for “The Hardest Behind the Scenes Working Non Member” with the Association of Bridal Consultants. I am also going to be the first ever to do the Professional Development Program with the Association on the computer. Through these years at Special Moments, makes me finally “see the light” and realize this is the career for me. Right Now, I am finishing up my Senior year in High School and then I am off to Rosen College to get my 4 year degree in Event Management. I will be working for Special Moments on a part-time basis until I finish up all my educational background.
