Andy Oberfield from Tampa Metro Transport.

Andy is the guy behind getting our clients from point A to point B in a economical way but also in style and class. Andy owns Tampa Metro Transport and he is the guy that shuttles our Brides and her escort to the ceremony or picks up the Bride and Groom from the ceremony and shuttles them to the reception or is there at the end of the night to take them away to their hotel for their honeymoon night….He always arrives early with a smile and is accommodating no matter what the request. Today we are going to feature a Unique Wedding Professional that caters to the DIY Bride……or Planner……..

Wedding Professional Wednesday

Welcome to Wedding Professional Wednesday…..

This week we decided to pick a wedding professional who never lets us down.

Chuck Weirich

Chuck Weirich from TampaBayDj.com is one of the best in the area. Not only is he an emcee, disc jockey, he also plays the trumpet! It’s like having a band and a DJ in one!

 A lot of younger brides want younger Dj’s because they “fit in” better with their crowd, but I say that age is only a number and it’s about the personality of the vendor. You are only as old as you act. Appearance means nothing in this field.

Chuck also uses the top of the line BOSE sound system, so he can definitely keep the party rockin’ all night! (Chuck will also work by candlelight, trust us, we have made him do some crazy things for our clients)

Nevertheless, one piece of advice before I go, please, no PLEASE hire a professional, a DJ can either make or break your reception, please do your research before booking any vendor for your wedding, because, would you choose the first house you look at, or would you look around to make sure you get the best?

Wedding Professional Wednesday

Wedding Professional Wednesday, its pretty self explanatory, but our goal on this day is to introduce a company that you may not have heard of, or even to just help promote their company. No, these companies have not paid us, or put a gun to our head, they are just being spotlighted for being pretty darn cool. =) These companies will range from people we haven’t worked with yet, to some we have worked with hundreds of times. Either way, this should be fun for everyone. If you decide to book them for your event, just make sure you say Special Moments sent you! =) 

Our 2nd Wedding Professional of 2010 is….(drumroll please) Beautiful Wedding Photography! 
Marley Lindley is the Gal behind the camera… ( In fact, I have no photo to share of her, since she is always behind the camera) Instead of a long winded novel of us talking about her……I asked her some questions about her and her company so you can get to know the Gal behind the camera…Enjoy! 

What year did you start your company? Beautiful Wedding photography was started in 2003. 
 
What lead you to choose photography?Well, my mother was a fine artist, and she loved taking pictures, so I guess I got it from her. I love to be able to capture what I see and preserve it and share the moment with people. Life happens so fast and you can’t get those moments back.  
 
Do you have any awards or certifications to share?Well, I am a professional certified wedding photographer by Professional Photographers of America.  I also am the Portrait Photographer for the Tampa Brides Against Breast Cancer Gown Sale.. ( I donate my time to offer complimentary portraits of the Brides in their newly purchased gowns)
 
 What school did you graduate from? I graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in 1994

What is your favorite food? My favorite food depends on what day it is, seafood, Chinese, sushi and Italian.

Favorite color? My favorite color again changes with the seasons, right now I am big into chocolate browns and tiffany blue or sage green.
Favorite movie? Not a big movie person, but I did enjoy the book Marley and Me.
Favorite song? It had to be you by Frank Sinatra, ok I admit it I am an old soul, I enjoy the classics.

 

Hobbies? I dabble in stain glass, painting pottery, working on preserving my old home (1924)

We have decided to update the format of our blog…. There are so many great design blogs out there to give you inspiration and planning advice……

We are converting the Blog to a Monday thru Friday Blog… Each Day of the week will have a topic/theme and it is designed to have you the viewers be able to post things related to that day of the week…….

Our 1st Wedding Professional of 2010 is….(drumroll please) IZA’S FLOWERS!

This florist shop is probably the most “homiest” place I have ever been to. Not only does she do amazing work, she can win anyone over with her personality! It’s a family run company, just like us, and its only about a block away from our office. Izabella will go above and beyond what she was contracted to do, she brought us a small beach wedding flower order, out to Treasure Island, on a Sunday, and still had a smile on! That’s true talent. =]

The Best of a Band and Dj all in one

Special Moments has worked with many vendors over the years, and thought we would spend some time sharing some of the vendors we have worked with and clients just rave about… We have many clients that want to have the live music style feel of an event, but do not want to pay the big bucks for a band. Here is a solution that works for some people. We have had the opportunity to work with Chuck Weirich from TampaBayDj.com on several occasions and our clients and their guests love the fact that he can play the trumpet to the music also.
