Grand Plaza Resort

Today we aren’t traveling too far from our office, to the beautiful beaches on St. Pete Beach. If you are looking to have a beach wedding and reception at a hotel and haven’t found the right place, please check out the Grand Plaza Resort.

They have 3 rooms to hold your ceremony and/or reception, The Presidential Ballroom, the Premier Suite, and the Imperial Ballroom. All with different views and layouts, but all exceptionally amazing!

Please don’t just take my word from it, go down and see for yourself.

St. Pete Beach Travels

Today we are traveling to a Inn located on St. Pete Beach, Florida….

The Postcard Inn is a easy going beach hotel with a bohemian edge. The Postcard Inn has so many wonderful amenities, but a few that stand out are FREE parking, ping pong, on site restaurant and beach bar, fire pit and many places to gather and just relax with friends.

When you enter the lobby you feel like you have stepped back in time from the decor to the ambiance. Then as you stroll thru the resort towards the beach, there is a fire pit area, hammocks by the beach bungalows to the pool that boasts a stage, kids wading pool and large space to hang out with friends. Each of the rooms has murals on the walls and unique decor to make you feel like you are at the beach, but in style.  If you get a chance, you should take a drive out to St. Pete Beach and check out the PostCard Inn..their motto is” Wish you were here” and it is so TRUE!

Don Cesar Beach Wedding & Reception

Hilary and Johnny were married on the beach at the Don Cesar on June 14th, 2009. This location was chosen for their Destination wedding location because of the beautiful beach and many amenities that the resort has to offer for all of the guests. Hilary wanted to choose some traditional elements to be part of her wedding, where Johnny wanted it to not have the typical look. We decided on the Natural wood chairs from Coast to Coast Event Rentals to help with traditional but not, along with  a burlap runner decorated with seashells and orchids. Then we came up with burlap bows with raffia accents to bring the natural  but traditional look together. The father of the groom played the keyboard for the ceremony music and the Grandmother of the Groom sang a solo for the Sand Ceremony portion of the service. After the ceremony the guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers on the Terrace while the Bride and Groom walked along the beach with the photographer to capture the Sunset pictures that brought them to Florida in the first place. After photos and introduction of the Bride and Groom , the guests enjoyed a dinner buffet and then started dancing the night away after the First Dance and Cake cutting. Thank you Hilary and Johnny for letting us be a part of your Sunny Destination Wedding in Florida.

Grand Plaza Resort Wedding & Reception

Susan and Chris were married on March 29th, 2009 on St. Petersburg Beach at the Grand Plaza Resort. Susan and Chris had chosen a shade of green and orange for their tropical beach wedding and reception. For the beach ceremony they chose to have clusters of seashells and tulle for decor on the chairs down the aisle and a tropical arrangement to be placed on the top of the arch that was provided by their Florist- Casey from Alma Ingram Flowers. Due to the large gusts of wind leading up to the ceremony, the tulle and seashells were decorated on the palm trees lining the aisle instead of the chairs. Josh from Island Boys played the Steel drums for the Ceremony.  After the ceremony, the guests were escorted to the Cocktail hour on the deck outside the Imperial Ballroom. After Cocktails and Photos by Gracia Bennish from Gracia Creative Photography , the guests collected their Sand Dollar place cards and took their seats which had chair covers and celadon sashes supplied by Coast to Coast Event Rentals. The sashes were then accented with Starfish and raffia supplied by us for an added wow. After the First Dance and Blessing, the guests were treated to a fabulous dinner buffet by the Grand Plaza Resort.  After the toast  and cake cutting( fabulous cake by Cakes by Carolynn), Jeff Staples rocked the house and kept every body dancing until the end of the night!  Below is the non-professional pictures of the set-up of the Imperial Ballroom. Looking forward to the pictures from Gracia to share also! Thanks again to all of the vendors for making Susan and Chris’s day so Special !

Tradewinds Island Grand – Kendra & Matt

Kendra and Matt were married on the beach near sunset at the Tradewinds Island Grand Resort. The 285 guests enjoyed a cocktail hour poolside with a steele drummer and watched the sunset. Everybody was then escorted to the Island Grand Ballroom where they collected their message in the Bottle place cards to find their tables, which were locations that Matt and Kendra enjoyed going and a little story by each name. After having a buffet dinner, guests dressed up with tropical props like coconut cups and grass skirts to have a polaroid taken and placed in a scrapbook along with tropical shaped cut-outs to write wishes to the Bride and Groom on and place with their picture in the book. The Bride & Groom and Guests danced the night away into the wee hours of the night. Thanks to the professional pictures from Shannon Livingston of Livingston Galleries we can all relive Matt & Kendra’s amazing wedding. Enjoy and Thanks Shannon!!!
