New Blog Format- Featured Friday

We have decided to update the format of our blog…. There are so many great design blogs out there to give you inspiration and planning advice……

We are converting the Blog to a Monday thru Friday Blog… Each Day of the week will have a topic/theme and it is designed to have you the viewers be able to post things related to that day of the week…….

Friday will be fondly known as Featured Friday from now on…….

We figured one day had to show off our work…. Featured Friday is for us to “brag” about all the cool events we do…… The things featured can range from a certain aspect of the event to the entire event itself… If you like what you see, remember, we are only a phone call away….

Our first Featured Friday is Amy and Mike’s Wedding…..

Amy and Mike were married at Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club.. in December….. Beachside Wedding with the reception in their Ballroom with a fabulous water view for all guests to enjoy…… One of the elements of this wedding that stands out was the fabulous pink lighting used for the reception…. The other key element is the rose petal send-off at the end of the evening……..

Mahaffey Theater Wedding & Reception

Tuyen and Tuan were married on May 2nd, 2009 on the Lawn of the Mahaffey Theater and the reception was held in the Ballroom upstairs of the Mahaffey also. The beginning of the day started with the Traditional Tea Ceremony and then followed later in the day with the Western Ceremony being performed on the Lawn of the Mahaffey Theater. The day gave us beautiful weather and a fabulous couple… Thanks to their photographer Van Tran, we are all able to remember that day with beautiful pictures. Thank you again Van for supplying the amazing photos below of Tuyen and Tuan’s “Special ” day.

Engagement Photos- Nikki & Nate

Nikki and Nate are getting married in October at the Don Vicente Historic Inn in Ybor city. They have chosen the always amazing Limelight Photography to photograph their wedding. Christy is the photographer that shot the amazing engagements photos. You will see after watching the photos why we can hardly wait for this amazing couple’s wedding. Sunken Gardens Wedding Ceremony

Chrissy & Ed were married on April 18th, 2009 in the Butterfly Garden at beautiful Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg, Florida. Chrissy and Ed had chosen an early afternoon ceremony with colors of Victorian Lilac and Apple Green. The minister was able to involve both of their cultural backgrouns into the ceremony. Chrissy has Irish culture in her family , so we added the Oathing Stone for during the vows. Ed included the traditional Jumping of the Broom for his family’s cultural background. The reception was held at the New Marriott in Pinellas Park which had been recently renovated from a Radisson Hotel. The guests enjoyed cocktails in the foyer of the ballroom waiting for the Bride & Groom to arrive. The centerpieces for the reception were cylinders of floating candles with a submerged stem of green orchids in the center cylinder below the candle. The chairs were decorated with a green bow and accents of lilac petals and diamond crystals scattered on the tables. After a dinner buffet , the candy bar was open for the guests to enjoy some sweet treats while they danced the evening away.

Nova 535 -Vegas Themed Networking Meeting

On Thursday , March 26th, 2009…. Nova 535 was the location for the Association of Bridal Consultants Central Florida West Local Networking meeting. We decided it would be fun to do a Vegas themed meeting complete with BlackJack tables… We were also able to showcase a new caterer in town. Ken Jurgenson from Chives Catering. Fabulous Food, Amazing location,awesome entertainment and great people in attendance.

Brides Against Breast Cancer Tampa VIP Night

Last Night was the Vip Night for Brides Against Breast Cancer. This was the first time doing that along with the regular sale. As the attendees ( brides plus guests)arrived to the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel they walked the pink carpet( supplied by Grand Events) to registration table to check-in. There they had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for $1.00. We were drawing during the event for a Free Wedding Dress ( valued up to $ 350.00 or they could use the discount off of a higher priced dress) and also a 4 day 3 night trip to Coconut Bay Resort ( all inclusive) in St. Lucia.

They were also treated to a free bridal publication from The Perfect Wedding Guide. As the guests left the Vip night , they were also given a goody bag supplied by Get Married with some goodies inside from various vendors.

After checking in, they were treated to glasses of wine & pink champagne along with a Mashed Potato Bar, fruit and cheese display,bacon wrapped scallops & and a Cappuccino and Expresso Bar….( Cafe A La Carte ) During the “cocktail hour ” they were also able to bid on Silent Auction items like hotel stays, wedding cakes & Flowers , plus a signed Martha Stewart Book.

One of the new additions to our gown sale this year was the Groom’s Lounge. The entire lounge set-up was supplied by Grand Events. Big thank to Grand Events, there lounge was a great success in the groom’s eyes and also for the kids in attendance.

After the cocktail hour the brides were let into the Ballroom to the main area and were greeted by ABC Members that were there to volunteer. The Brides were then treated to a suprise. Holly from Studio 10 was there to greet the guests and we had a very Special Guest with her… Cassiday…

Cassiday is sufferering with Breast Cancer and had asked the Making Memories Foundation for a wedding dress for her and a dress for her daughter. The Man that stood by her during this breast cancer treatment process has asked Cassiday to marry him. Cassiday arrived by Rolls Royce ( supplied by Ambassador Limousine) with her daughter and Fiance to the sale thinking she was picking out a dress. We suprised her with the help of fellow ABC ( Association of Bridal Consultants)Members a complete wedding including location for her. When Holly started reading off the different vendors and they came up and presented her with certificates for the wedding on March 30th, 2009 . Tears we filled in her eyes and her groom to be was speechless.

After the “Wish ” for Cassiday… Holly drew the tickets for the free dress and also for the trip and the Brides eagerly were anticpating being allowed to shop for the dress of their dreams nefore the public the next day. Once, Holly asked the volunteers to let go of the chain , the brides hurriedly grabbed dresses and were off to the fitting room …

It was an amazing night and we raised $ 14,000 on the VIP night … We are so excited for next years sale and can hardly wait! Will keep you updated on the date for next year and also the location!

Davis Island Garden Club Reception

Suzanne and Victor were married in May of 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ybor City with a full Catholic Mass and the reception was held at the Davis Island Garden Club. Suzanne and Victor chose Fuschia and Black as their wedding colors. When the guests arrived for the cocktail hour they were treated to appetizers and cocktails on the lawn with a great view of the water. They had lawn games available to entertain the guests along with a punch station. After the cocktail hour the guests were seated indoors for a sit-down dinner along with the traditional first dance. After dinner was completed the party really began with lots of dancing, cigars and a fabulous dessert bar and candy station. The pictures below were furnished by Alexis Photography. Greek Wedding -St Stefano’s Church

Desiree and Eric were married in July of 2007 at St. Stefano’s Church in St. Petersburg, Fl. Their Reception was held at the Church Hall. This was Special Moments first Greek wedding and were so excited to be a part. The Vendors chosen were amazing and truly helped make such a Special Day for the Bride and Groom, from the Greek Band to the amazing food by Delectable’s Fine Catering, to the fabulous photos below supplied by Alexis Photography and the chair covers and fabulous ceiling decor by Zee at A Linen Valley.

A-La Carte Event Pavilion -Bridal Show

Special Moments was involved in a Bridal Show Booth with the Association of Bridal Consultant Members this weekend. The Bridal Show was located at the A-La-Carte Event Pavilion and was put on by Keith LaMotte from Your Wedding TV. Thanks to all of the Participating ABC Members who all contributed money towards the booth and their time. With the money from ABC Members, we were able to have a Making Memories Booth also. Making Memories is the sponsor of Brides Against Breast Cancer Gown Sale. We were able to get the word out to all of the many Brides in attendance about the Gown sale and that purchasing a gown from the Sale helps the Making Memories Foundation grant wishes to people with terminal breast cancer. A great gown at a unbelievable price, that also gives a last wish to a terminal breast cancer patient’s family. For further information about the Brides against Breast cancer Gown Sale go to:
